questions
I have a few questions of my fellow tripawd people. First, should one try to slow down one’s pup as she is barrelling through the snow lickety split? Maggie is going full steam and has fallen a few times. I certainly don’t want her to hurt her only front leg but trying to contain a Weim seems fruitless. I do have a harness to help her in the truck but so far she is doing everything she did when she had 4 legs. Second, does everyone continue to give heartworm and vaccines? I gave her her heartworm but I’ve been reluctant to give her any more vaccines. Third, I found out Maggie’s father died of osteosarcoma at age 7. Is this disease hereditary? Thanks for any input.

Ohhhh, what a beauty Penny is.
You’ve got some fantastic questions and I don’t want you to remain wondering, please go to our Forums where you can find faster help.
I do believe I read that osteo is hereditary in breed lines but don’t quote me on that.
As for slowing her down…well, I know it’s hard but it’s one of the big responsibilities of a Tripawd pawrent, to monitor activity so the pups don’t overdo it. See our CARE videos for details.
Vaccines and heartworm are a very popular topic in our forums too, a quick search will reveal a very interesting recent topic.

Hi Jerry
Thanks for the compliment. I am kinda cute but a beauty would be pushing it. But, yes Maggie is beautiful. I will go to the forums to check out my questions.
