After 25 years of riding mountains, parades, horse shows, taking relatives for rides I had to say goodbye to my buddy. At 31 years of age he was ready to go to the big pasture in the sky. A super hard decision to make but like all our loved animals it is our responsibility to know when to release them. When my husband and I married I explained to him he had to get a horse if he wanted to hang with me. So he got Eddie. He had quite a few misadventures with him (read bucked off) but eventually they became good partners. It wasn’t long before I got really attached to him and started using him as my own horse and saw how very talented he was. There was nothing he wouldn’t do. As he got older he developed Cushing’s disease and ground down his teeth so he couldn’t eat hay only soft pellets. I had the vet come out and he had a peaceful death and lives next to an old buddy that died several years ago. Run free my sweet Eddie.

Blink and the old man Eddie
Mommy bought a new picture. Don’t know why she liked it so much. I’ll just keep sleeping.
My buddy Sally (aka Sarah) reminded me it was THAT time of year. Yep, you guessed it, Fall and wait for it…HALLOWEEN !!! So maybe we can get Admin to have another contest OR we can submit pictures which is just as fun. There are many of you with new pups so lets get thinking of how adorable (and irritated) they would be dressed up.

Today is Blink’s 6th birthday and she is doing what she loves best when it is hot outside.

Blink, Petunia and I went on a nice ride today. I think Maggie was hovering over us because Blink kept looking back. Hank had to stay home because he is not quite mature enough to go riding. Maybe in 10 years. As you can see Hank was not suffering by being left at home.
Happy Summer

Today Hank turns 1 year old. It was too cold to go out and do anything so we hung around the fire and read (well I read). I asked him what he really wanted for his birthday and he replied a weekend with Merry Myrtle. I can’t really refuse the boy so I’m taking up a collection to fly Myrtle over to California for a little fun. I think Hank would find his match in Myrtle. Then who knows Masti-Weims? Included is a birthday picture of Maggie with her brothers Tucker (black lab) and Jake (retriever mix).
Penny and her Gang
Hank kept taking down all the other dogs stockings and I realized I never made him one. So here is his quickly made stocking. He is still getting coal in his stocking. And this is how Blink makes it through the holiday season. I think she may be on to something!

Hey Peeps Miss Myrtle won the Halloween contest and rightly so, so how about a big whoop, whoop for our special Raggedy Ann.
