Another Amazing Tripawds Three Legged Dog Blog

Horseradish

Several years ago I planted horseradish because I liked it, especially on veggie dogs. Then one day about a month ago I decided to dig up all the horseradish because it got really tall and unruly and I couldn’t eat it or give it away fast enough. So I thought I dug it all up.  A couple of days later I would go out there and more horseradish would sprout up. I dug that up. Again it would come up. Maggie used to sit in the garden and watch me. I decided horseradish was just like cancer and just wouldn’t go away. I’m sure Maggie was wondering why I was digging and prodding and cursing with such a vengeance. I thought about using some pesticide to kill it (chemo)but the green plant next to it (rhubarb) would get damaged (other organs) and besides I don’t use anything stronger than soap. As you can see in the picture the horseradish moved outside it’s border to the rest of the bed (metastasis). I was getting more frantic about getting all the horseradish out but every 3 days more would pop up. I think I decided I (Maggie) wasn’t going to win this battle. It was a plant but to me it was the cancer battle and we were not going to win. So the plant is still there and maybe I 002will try and look at it in a different way but probably not.

Okay Penny……I tried to think if Maggie is connecting with you (with a wink a d a smile), would she use your arch enemy — the horseradish?

Well…….she loved being with you in the garden, right? You planted it several years ago when Maggie was stronger and “friskier”. Okay, stay with me now……

The horseradish is strong….”frisky”……continues it’s rebirth cycle even when you think it is no longer “alive”…….cannot be contained……it’s determination to “come back” knows no boundaries…………..:-) 🙂

    Hmmmmmmm…….something to think about:-) 🙂

Could that be a better way to view the horseradish?? Maybe Maggie’s playing a little cosmic joke on you using the horseradish to send you a message??

Sorry……#&$#%# thing cuts off any darn time it wants?

Guess the bottom line of the message Maggie could be sending…….

NOTHING CAN DEFEAT HER. NOTHING CAN EVER STOP HER LOVING SPIRIT
FROM CONTINUING TO GROW. HER ENERGY IS INFINITE AND KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES.

The very.best to you and Blink AND spirit Maggie.

I know you hurt so badly and I know the joyful times will soon help push the sadness a little further away. It will.

Penny that is an interesting analogy. An invasive weed. I never thought of it like that.

OK, what if you planted something tasty in there that will be even stronger and take over the horseradish? Kind of like allowing the good times to overtake the sadness in your heart. Maybe mint?

    Just a thought.
